In 2010, Eric O’Grey was told he had five years to live. At 340 pounds, he was suffering a host of medical problems and had withdrawn from society. One day, he went to an animal shelter and asked for an “obese, middle-aged dog” so they’d have something in common. He adopted Peety who, like Eric, was lonely and sick. With daily walks, they both lost weight and flourished. Today, Eric runs marathons and lives a beautiful life.
