Chocolate is as common as it gets here in the States, but do we ever think about where it comes from? Cocoa is the primary export of the Ivory Coast, where the farmers work long, hard days for very low pay to produce cocoa beans to sell to exporters. Most of them never get to taste or even see what it's turned into.
The folks at Metropolis decided to change this by bringing chocolate bars to the farmers and letting them see how delicious the fruit of their labor is. Try remembering them next time you have some chocolate, and really savor it as though it was your first time. You'll enjoy it that much more, we promise!
