Nobody likes to be misled—especially when they’re being sold to. So Charlotte McCourt, an 11-year-old Girl Scout from New Jersey, went out of her way to be completely and totally honest with her potential cookie buyers. She wrote a letter reviewing all of the cookies and giving her (brutally) honest opinion about each kind. Despite the fact that this could have potentially hurt her cookie sales, the exact opposite happened—she sold over $20,000 in cookies! Her refreshing honesty seems to have been the best policy after all.
