We typically don’t put much effort into our daily chit-chat with others. But this past New Year’s Eve, waitress Heather Schelsteder happened to serve a customer who paid close attention. They struck up a conversation where they each spoke about the difficulties they had been going through. The customer was going through difficult times at work as well as dealing with grief, and Heather sympathized as she had just lost her grandmother. At the end of the meal, the waitress was surprised by an extremely generous gesture, and a sweet note.
