A Retiree Transformed His Cat Naps into a Way to Help an Animal Shelter
Sleeping on the job isn’t normally smiled upon, but Terry Lauerman just might be the exception. A brother at Wisconsin’s St. Norbert Abbey, Terry began spending his afternoons volunteering at a local shelter for cats with special needs. When Terry’s volunteer work took a drowsy turn, he dozed off on the shelter’s couch with some of the feline residents. Photos of the sleepy scene began to circulate on social media, turning Terry into a viral star, and giving the shelter’s staff a great fundraising idea.
