An Anxiety Diagnosis Didn’t Stop Her from Achieving Her Goals
In third grade, Michaela Rollins was diagnosed with social anxiety disorder. Now in college, she has survived and even thrives despite the adversity. “My anxiety does not define who I am,” she says. “My brain just works differently than other people’s and what’s so bad about that?” Thanks to therapy, medication, and strong family support, she is now a sophomore in college who studies psychology and plans to be a child therapist.
