An FBI Agent Donates Her Kidney to an Ailing Teen
FBI Special Agent Michelle DeStefeno says that people are drawn to join the FBI out of a sense of duty and a desire to help others. She proved her point when, after reading a newspaper account about a 16-year-old named Haley Wilson who needed a kidney transplant, she immediately signed up to help. Luckily for the ailing teen, Special Agent DeStefano proved to be a match and took the steps to become a kidney donor. Haley’s gratitude is profound. DeStefeno’s act “completely changed my life and made me a better person,” she says.
