This Artist Beautifully Redefines the Power of the Art of Sound
Christine Sun Kim, deaf from birth, originally thought that sound was something solely for non-deaf people. As she explored the realm of sound, however, she realized that it can be felt tactually, seen visually, or even experienced as an idea. In this TED talk, she explains how she decided to reclaim ownership of sound and put it into her art practice. Her work pushes the boundaries of the concept of sound, and finds beautiful parallels between music and sign language.
