Nick Liberato left Philadelphia to pursue his dream of living in California. He had no friends and no career prospects, until he met surf shop owner Mikke Pearson, who gave him his first job. More importantly, Mikke refused to give him the job back after Nick quit to pursue a career as a chef. He knew that Nick’s passion was for cooking, and that he needed tough love.
