Every Weekend, This Birdcage Craftsman and 1800 Birds Gather in a Park
When Teng Lanh Foo of Singapore was a boy, his friend gave him a bird. He couldn't afford a cage so he made one. 58 years later, Lanh Foo is still making beautiful bird cages. “Birds are the love of my life,” he says, and builds his stunning cages with love and care. On weekends, he judges bird-singing competitions at the Kebun Baru Birdsinging Club, where bird owners gather regardless of heritage or social status. “We are all equal here,” says Lanh Foo of this charming, artistic event.
