A Former Marine Travels the Country to Give Hugs to Veterans Suffering from PTSD
34-year-old former Marine Ian Michael served in the Iraq war in 2003 and has struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder ever since. In order help other veterans cope with anxiety and isolation, he created the Human Hugs Project. Along with fellow Marine veteran Gino Greganti and his wife, Erin, Michael travels across the country giving out hugs at VA hospitals. The hugs inspire veterans to cry and share their stories, which is slowly helping them heal.
