How a Community Teamed Up to Tuck a Neighbor into Bed Every Night
When Kathy Felt’s multiple sclerosis progressed to the point where she could no longer get into bed on her own, she thought her only option was to move into an assisted-living community. That is, until a group of neighbors, 60-strong, stepped in to help her with her evening routine. The men created a schedule where two of them would go to her house at a set time every night to lift her from her wheelchair to her bed. Now, ten years later, Kathy’s still going strong thanks to her team of amazing volunteers.
