How a Group of Strangers Can Quickly Become an Incredible Team
Business school professor Amy Edmondson delivers an astute and important talk about "teaming," whereby people come together quickly to solve pressing or unusual problems. In today’s world, people often work with strangers in order to tackle a specific issue. An urgent and extreme example is when 33 miners were trapped underground in Chile in 2010. People from different nations, backgrounds, professions and sectors came together and, after 10 weeks, every single miner was rescued alive. To truly innovate, people need to cross boundaries and tap into each others’ knowledge and skills.
