How People Are Wired to Pursue Happiness
In this classic TED talk, cognitive researcher Nancy Etcoff looks at how we try to achieve happiness, and why. We are biologically wired to not only enjoy pleasurable things, but to seek them. From birth, our bodies respond positively to pleasurable stimuli. We find great rewards from nature, being absorbed in activities we like, and spending time with loved ones. It’s okay to want more of what makes us happy—in fact, we were born that way!
