How to Perform Up to Your Potential When It Really Matters
Cognitive scientist Sian Leah Beilock is here to share insight on a topic we can all (unfortunately) relate to: choking under pressure. Even if we’ve practiced something a thousand times, the pressure to perform can get the best of us. Beilock’s own experience losing a soccer game in front of the national coach of an Olympic program inspired her to make a career out of studying performance anxiety and how our brains can overcome it. In this TED MED talk, she explains how overthinking can cause it and how we can prevent it.
