When This Marathoner's Legs Gave Up Just Seconds from the Finish Line, Another Runner Saved the Day
When runner Matthew Rees was just a few hundred yards from the finish line during the London Marathon, he noticed a fellow runner having difficulties. Though he may have set his own personal record, he selflessly went over to the runner, whose legs were giving way, and urged him on. The marathoner in trouble was David Wyeth, and he felt he couldn’t go on—but luckily Rees and a support assistant stepped in to help him across the finish line. It was just a few hundred feet away, but this act of kindness has inspired people all over the world.
