Meet a Surgeon Who Has Restored the Vision of More Than 100,000 People in Nepal
As a young boy, Sanduk Ruit lost his brother and sister to what, he later came to realize, were illnesses that could have been treated by modern medicine. Sadly, they did not have access to quality medical care in the region of Nepal where they lived. Inspired by this tragedy, Sanduk became an ophthalmologist, dedicated to serving Nepal’s poor. So far, he has performed more than 100,000 sight-restoring procedures.
