Birds can cause different types of damage to flights: They can dent planes, or even cause dangerous mechanical failure if they get sucked into an engine. Meet Piper, the superdog who protects planes at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan. His owner, Brian Edwards, trained Piper for a year and a half to be an expert bird deterrent. Piper races across the runway, causing geese, gulls, ducks, crows and other birds to flee. The job is important, but also fun, and we can’t get over his uber-cool dog goggles.
