Reading Others’ Insecurities Aloud Stirs Empathy and Compassion
We all have secret insecurities, and we often feel alone with them. In order to inspire empathy and understanding, people were asked to write their biggest insecurities on paper. Then, strangers were given their words to read aloud. Even though they don’t know who wrote the thoughts, they read with so much emotion and empathy that you would never guess it wasn’t their own words on the paper. It’s a beautiful act that shows the universality and interconnectedness of humanity.
