A Former NFL Player’s Revolutionary Gym Gives Veterans and Amputees a New Kind of Courage
Former NFL player David Vobora has done something revolutionary and invaluable by creating a gym for veterans, paraplegics and amputees. In 2014, he met U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills, one of five surviving quadruple amputees from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Vobora challenged Mills to come to the gym with him. Soon, the group grew to more than a dozen athletes. Today, Vobora’s Adaptive Training Program provides invaluable inspiration and a sense of community for veterans and amputees alike.
