Sunset and a Storm Combine to Light Up a Rare Cloud Formation in This Breathtaking Video
In the spring, Mike Olbinski chases storms to capture footage of supercells, lightning, tornadoes, and other phenomena across our skies. In North Dakota, he witnessed and filmed undulatus asperatus clouds, a very rare type of cloud with a wavy undersurface. During a recent hail and lightning storm, the sun lit up the undulatus clouds in an unbelievable way! This gorgeous spectacle on time-lapse film will take your breath away, and Mike says it is one of the most incredible scenes he’s ever witnessed in eight years of filming the sky.
