20 years ago, Wilmot Collins fled Liberia and came to America. He established a new life in Helena, Montana but it wasn’t easy. It’s hard, he says, “fleeing your country, fleeing everything you know and going into a totally strange environment.” He made history, becoming the first black mayor in Montana in over a century. Today, he meets with constituents every month so that he can hear firsthand how he can support the community.
