The Largest Telescope in the World is Currently Being Built and Its Images Will Astound Us
This short video gives you a look into how the world’s largest telescope is built. Underneath the University of Arizona’s football stadium are the beginnings of the Giant Magellan Telescope, which will be the largest telescope in the world. Seven gigantic 27-foot mirrors will be polished for 2 to 3 years in order to produce images with 10 times the resolution of the Hubble Space Telescope. When it is completed and placed in the Chilean Andes, scientists will have an unprecedented look at our universe.
