This Station Agent Finds Meaning By Connecting with the 4,000 Commuters He Meets Each Day
William Cromartie is a mass transit station agent for the BART in San Francisco. He prefers to stay outside of his booth rather than in it, and loves greeting commuters and making a connection with them. As a child, he felt isolated, so when he sees someone who seems alone, he gives them a greeting to let them know they belong. William engages with 4000 people a day and sees homelessness, hurt, happiness. More than anything, he sees life and is glad to be a part of it. This 3-minute documentary is a beautiful portrait of a man who finds and gives meaning to life.
