This Violinist Played Her Way Through Brain Surgery
Playing the violin professionally takes an incredible amount of talent, dedication, and dexterity. And while a pro-violinist might have spent so much time on their craft they could “play in their sleep,” playing through brain surgery is another story. But that’s exactly what orchestral violinist Dagmar Turner did. To ensure the part of her brain that allows her to play music remained unharmed, she literally played her instrument during a procedure she underwent to remove a tumor.
