Why We’re Really Bad at Noticing the Changes in Ourselves
Just as some people have trouble accepting that technological advancements are here to stay, many of us underestimate our own capacities for change. People across age groups think that most of their big changes are behind them. This is called “the end-of-history illusion:” we think how things are now is how they will continue to be. In actuality, change is always happening within us and without us—and that can be very comforting.
